Inspiration for your Sitting Room MakeOver
It seems to me that what you might call reverse inspiration is much easier to come by than the converse!
Meaning this: of course you're a great friend so when one of your mates has just had a bit of a change around or bought a (to them) clunky piece of new furniture ...
...and they give you that quizzical look, then naturally you reassure them and let them know how great the room looks now.
... while of course making a mental note that chunky oak sofas with chintz covers don't look that great and come to think of it nor do shocking pink walls matched with chrome light fittings.
So we build up a mental list over the years of certain no-no's, but the oh yes's are harder to stumble upon.
You just have to look through books, catalogues and magazines, the trouble is that we all know the photos have been professionally styled and the rooms aren't actually lived in - which makes things a whole lot easier for the photographer!
Personally what I have done in the past is just stumble upon a great sofa or armchair or even a picture ... bought it straight away .... then hoped for inspiration to come my way to develop the theme.
